This is the site for the Culture and Society course, the Spring 22 iteration of ANTH 1100 taught by Prof. Joseph A. Torres-González at the Department of Anthropology of Brooklyn College | City University of New York (CUNY)
In this site you will find the Syllabus with all course policies, the Course Description, including the motivation and purpose of the class, the Readings and Materials, which include open-access materials, articles, and videos, a Calendar with all lessons and due dates, a detailed description of all Assignments, and references to Additional Sources which will complement our class.
As you can see, this is a “living” document/archive, I will continue updating and refining it as the semester continues. I am open to feedback, comments, and ideas that can be taken into consideration for our site.
The template and organization for this website was inspired by the resource Spanish for the Public Good, taught by Prof. Daniel Valtueña at Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY). This course has been developed thanks to an Open Pedagogy Fellowship offered by the Mina Rees Library at the CUNY Graduate Center. I want to thank Elvis Bakaitis, Jill Cirasella , my amazing colleagues from the Winter 2022 Fellows cohort and the staff at the Mina Rees Library for their assistance building this course site.
